what is the difference between "doing things the old way" and "doing things in the old way"?
I used to think "doing things the old way" is not correct. So what is the difference between "doing things the old way" and "doing things in the old way"? Are they the same meaning or not?
Thanks

"doing things the old way" is correct, "in the old way" would be understood to be the same thing but considered incorrect. I am not sure off the top of my head why there is no preposition in that phrase, I would just memorize it.
