From reading/speaking in Mandarin to writing

I am currently in the process of learning how to write in Chinese. The more and more i look into it, the more easier the strokes become. Because I have already learned a few characters, I am able to read to a degree by identifying a character and it's meaning. The part is using the characters that I already memorized to practice writing, because I can't remember the exact stroke order when I sit down and try to write by memory. This is due primarily to the fact that up until now, i have not made a valiant effort at training my brain to write in chinese characters. Does anyone have any tips/advice? Any recommendations for books?

Hi there. The stroke order can be somewhat complicated. I think practice makes perfect; when I was small and learned to write, we used to have these writing practice books that had templates, which allowed us to follow the strokes and wrote the characters. They look something like this:

See if you can find these books, they should help!
