I have been learning Russian for some time and I got to the point where I can understand much of what I am told, but then, there is the usual word or structure I do not understand if I hear a sentence. So talking to Russians it kind of uncomfortable because they have to either repeat what they said or write it so I can understand... and then then have to wait until I can develop the answer. All that felt very frustrating until a few days ago when I decided to start holding conversations on Whatsapp. The audio message application is great. I can send and receive audio messages, if I do not understand, I can play it as many times as I want and I can always ask the speaker to write the message, then I have time to develop the answer and practise the pronunciation if it is necessary before sending the message. During all that time, the person who sent the message can do whatever they want not have to wait for me for 20 seconds or 2 hours depending on how much time I need to understand their message and come up with an answer. I am probably not the first person that started to do this to practise, so that made me think that there should be other things that can be used (maybe applications that people are using) to practise languages. If there is anything you do to practise or learn languages, could you please share?
It's rather typical stage I think. May your situation be not so hard because you have successful experience with other languages?
Oh, I've never thought about this application) Thanks for idea!
Thanks a lot... I just created an account and I know how I can use this site for learning purposes. It is very useful.
Well, yeah. I remember when I was learning English and I had the perception that I was understanding as much English as I am understanding Russian now, so it is very encouraging to see that I am really progressing.
