What is the difference between spigot, faucet and water tap?

That might be a matter of English speaking country but here in the US the faucet is what is in my bathrooms and kitchen and there's a spigot outside. Water tap I recognize as a term, but have never used it myself. I think that might be used more for industrial applications.
If you are talking about indoor plumbing I would suggest you use the word faucet.
