Chac Mool - You may like Norwegian Wood if you prefer a more realistic plot. His later books have become more fantastical.

A very good (and popular) author. Norwegian Wood made him famous and his other books haven't equaled it but they still make for good reads.

Murakami is one of my favourite writers. In his books there is something beautiful on every single page, you don't just read to finish the story and find out how the book ends, or because you want to get to the last page so you can read another book! They're full of thoughts and easy to read, without ever being superficial.

I just finished reading Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage, I thought the book is good and well written but not great (I read it in Spanish). Since it´s the first book by Murakami I´ve read, I thing I´ll give Norwegian Wood a try since it seems to be one of his better books.
