Last Blues, to be read some day by Cesare Pavese

Recently I've read this composition called Last Blues, to be read some day written by Cesare Pavese, an Italian writer and poet who lived in the XX century.

It is about an unrequited love.

What do you think of this composition?

‘T was only a flirt
you sure did know -
some one was hurt
long time ago.

All is the same
time has gone by -
some day you came
some day you’ll die.

Some one has died
long time ago -
some one who tried
but didn’t know.

No, it isn't my translation. Pavese wrote it in English because he knew it well (he was also a translator).

I love it Lor,and partly because I love the blues! There is something wonderful about that rhythm. Is that your translation?
