Text-to-speech websites for Romanian language / Sintetizatoare vocale pentru limba română Text-to-speech websites let you enter a text in a certain language and then transform it into speech (audio file). I found them to be very useful for learning pronunciation in the languages I am learning (although you cannot always trust them 100%, but still...) Here are some examples for Romanian: http://www.ivosoftware.com/index.php?option=com_ivonaonline&vo=4&Itemid=38 - limited to 200 characters; sample text sounds almost perfect and natural http://www.phobos.ro/demos/tts/index.html - this one sounds a little more robotic, but it does not limit the size of the text (you can transform whole stories) http://www.baum.ro/ro/online/online.html - this one also offers a downloadable version; it produces a .wav file you can save; it allows you to modify speed and intonation.

This is an online demo for an academic system of a Romanian TTS based on HTS. Check it  out:  <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /><a href="http://octopus.utcluj.ro:56337/HTS_RomanianDemo/index.php">http://octopus.utcluj.ro:56337/HTS_RomanianDemo/index.php</a> ;. It sounds better than most of the ones mentioned above, except for Ivona which is a commercial product.
