portuguese hint: a feeling named " saudade"

Saudade is a group of feelings you feel when you miss something, can be as a nostalgic and happy feeling as a sadness that even makes you  cry when you remember that thing you don't have anymore.

Examples:

Eu sinto saudade da minha antiga casa

I miss my old house

Eu ainda sinto saudade da minha ex

I still miss my ex girlfriend

There is a popular mith that 'saudade' is one of the world's hardest words to translate. It's nothing but a mith. Firstly anyone can explain it in a few seconds and it's very easy to understand because everybody has this feeling. Second, many languages have this word. For example there is the Spanish 'nostalgia', German 'sehnsucht' or Polish 'tesknota'.

But by the way we have 'cafuné', which is an indigenous word that became Brazilian and has no translation to English or any other language.

I kinda agree with you Pedro.  The idea is easy but the fact of there's no a specific translation to this word( in english at leats) + the fact  this word refers to a feeling kinda adds a subjective value to the word.

Actually, you can't translate saudade, it's a very strong word... A curiosity? that is a list with the 10 most difficult words to translate, saudade occupies the 7th position!
