What is your reaction if people don't thank you for your correction on their notebooks or questions on italki?

Hi everybody...I remember one time a person made a discussion and complained about not giving corrections on his notebook on italki anymore...One person answered him and told it is because of you didn't thank them...

So it is my question: What is your reaction if people don't thank you for your correction on their notebooks or questions on italki?

- Do you become sad and you don't correct or answer her\him anymore? or It doesn't matter for you and you continue anyway? or you lose your passion for correcting or answering her\him but you occasionally correct or answer her\him? or you think about yourself more and this subject comes in your mind that maybe you had wrong answer or bad correction? etc...in summary, how much this subject is important and have influence on you?

Usually I don't understand those people at all!

Once I asked a girl -publicly- who used to post entries and never thanked anyone, about the

reason she doesn't thank anyone! And I guess my question upset her because she deactivated

her account and before she leaves she said that she had no time to say "thank you"!

Funny she had no time for that, yet she had time to post long entries that needed many corrections,

and it's even funnier that she didn't appreciate the "time" spent by us "correctors" at the time to say

a simple "thank you". That "Thank you" would have made us sure that she read the corrections at least,

which we spent time and effort to give them to her.

I wrote 36 entries since I joined italki but gave 1014 corrections, so for me it was never because I wanted

something in return, I honestly loved to help to pay it forward, and I stopped giving corrections because I

had no time left after I became a full time translator.

I admit that those corrections were beneficial to me as well, but they took time and time is gold. Those who

stopped thanking me or never thanked me, I stopped correcting their entries as well, because they honestly

got my help in the wrong way and they definitely don't deserve it! I consider those who don't thank others the

cheapest and stingiest type of people and I hope they will read my comment to know what they truly are :)

People voluntarily give their time to correct items. Good manners dictate a thank you even if the answer is wrong. The exception is people who write something totally off-the-wall. Non-serious people, that is. 

I've stopped helping people who can't say thanks. Sometimes people forget so I take that into account too. Especially if it's someone who I have helped in the past.

Sometimes a name seems familiar, then I may check whether this person had thanked me before, for corrections or answers. If they didn't, then I won't help them again - especially when they never seem to thank anybody. It's not worth getting upset or sad about, I think, but I admit I'm not happy about it either.

I don't become sad because I try not give much importance to negative behaviors from strangers, but I usually do notice that the person didn't by her to say thanks. In my eyes, it's rude. Some people try to justify it, but I remain unconvinced. Someone took time to help, the receiver should take a few seconds to thank him/her. 

Some people consistently take without once acknowledging the help they are benefiting from. I ignore these entries because it says a lot about the person's entitled mindset. I don't believe in encouraging these types of attitudes so I refrain from correcting texts where I know my help will be seen as meaningless.

@ Sepideh, I once came across an English lady, who was here to learn CHInese, she asked three questions advanced and complicated questions in Chinese. I was quite a little surprised at her advanced Chinese level once I saw those questions. Many kind and nice people had given their own thoughts and explanation about her questions, sadly, without receiving a simple "thanks". so I left that lady two messages suggestting that she'd better say thanks to those people who had offered help. However, here is the thing, she replied; "i don't see there are any necessities, I thought italki is a platform of language learning, I didn't know there is such tradtion to say thanks, besides, their answers have not helped me yet, I am still confused." after that, she blocked me anyway.
