A common mistake when you're learning italian is to use the verb "visitare" in the same way of the english "visit".
Pay ATTENTION! There is an important difference between them.
In Italian we use the verb "visitare" only with name of CITY or in a SPECIFIC CONTEXT. For example I can say
"La settimana scorsa ho visitato Napoli"
or
"La settimana scorso il medico ha visitato Lucia "
but WE DON'T USE "visitare" with friends or, more generally, with pepole
WE DONT' SAY "Ieri ho visitato Maria" BUT "Ieri sono ANDATO A TROVARE Maria"
the expression "andare a trovare" someone is more common and used by italian pepole to say that I visit a friend!
Do you know this important difference?
