I heard someone says “very” like “vre” or “free”, which I don’t know how to spell though, does this frequently happen in fast speech?

sounds unrealistic
as the stress is on vEry, it may sound as "way"
but never as "free"

Sometimes, when people say something like this,it doesn't necessarily mean they are wrong. They just speak a bit fast, making it hard for us to catch. However, we should focus on their keywords to communicate effectively in English.
