My first experience of being a salesgirl Of all the extra-curricular activities I took part in, the most impressive one is doing my part time job as a salesgirl who sold drinks for Tong Yi Company. Last summer vocation, after several interviews, I was lucky enough to land this job. At the very beginning, I thought the selling work was a piece of cake for me. However, when it began, I found it no easy job at all. Standing outdoors in the scorching sun for hours, I had to hawking my wares loudly to attract the passers-by. What’s more, in order to persuade customers to buy my products, I must highlight its selling points over and over again. After standing for 2 hours, I was worn-out and wanted to sit down for a rest. But considering there might be an inspector spying on me at any time, I gave up the idea and kept on working. Not only is it a tiring task, but also a challenging one. It was a great challenge for me to overcome my shyness and shout out bravely in front of the crowd. Meanwhile, I had to get prepared to meet various kinds of people and bargaining with them using selling techniques. Although it was tiring and challenging, I still enjoyed my job. Whenever I sold a product successfully, I felt a great sense of achievement. Finally my efforts paid off----I earned 400 yuan for my excellent performance. To sum up, it is an profoundly meaningful experience, from which I benefit a lot. Not only have I earned the first sum of money by myself, but I have also acquired some useful skills that cannot be learned from books. It builds up my confidence, exercises my willpower and improves my practical ability. Most importantly, I learn to get along well with others and express my ideas clearly and convincingly, which is of great help to my future career.
