Being Emcee Since my previous school, I had been an emcee for about maybe I could say five times. It had been a pleasure for me to be the master of ceremony. Seriously I want to say here, I love to talk, especially talking about funny things. It will make others laugh and they love me when I tell jokes. Tell me who does not love jokes. So, for me there are two types of emcee. One is for formal ceremony, such as price giving ceremony, graduation, sports day or assembly and another one is for informal ceremony, for examples birthday party, wedding ceremony and more. If you ask me which one I like, of course I will choose the informal one. Being a master of ceremony for informal occasion is way better and easier than the formal one. If it is formal occasion, you have to follow the protocol as it involves very important person (VIP) and most probably they were boring and I am very sure they hate that protocol as much as I am. In an informal occasion, for example I gave just now, birthday party, there will be lots of kids and I can interact with them without any circumstances. Besides, I do not have to talk based on the protocol and I can put some jokes in my emcee’s text. When we talk about text, I think it is compulsory for an emcee to have it. Even professional emcees have it during conducting a ceremony. Text is totally important as it helps emcees during having difficulties while conducting the ceremony. Let say in the middle of the ceremony, we forget about what we suppose to say that time and we start to give a weird sound like “emmm”, “errrr” and at last everyone in that ceremony stare at you waiting for you to say something. At this time, text is very important as it helps you to know the flow and the consequences of event. So, that is what I thought about being emcee. What are yours? Currently, I had been conducting two ceremonies. Both were a formal events but I enjoyed conducting them. The first one was race event and the other one was a Japanese speech contest. I love both of them and I am looking forward to conduct another event, a way bigger event.

Being an MC is an important job. You have to have a text and timeline to follow, so that the event runs smoothly. Oh and make sure that the PA system works, otherwise no one will hear you:))
