A little story about Palembang Hello all, this is my third written entry. In this entry I will tell you about my city, Palembang. I got an idea to write about my city when I woke up this morning. I saw outside from my window and suddenly got this idea ^^. Ok, let we start ! Palembang is a capital city of South Sumatera Province, Indonesia . I have been living here since I was born. Palembang city separated into two area (One area call Ilir, other area call Ulu ; I live in Ilir area) by Musi River. Those two area is linked by Ampera Bridge. Ampera bridge is a landmark of our city. There are a lot of tourism destinations in Palembang, like Kemaro (Kemarau) Island , Benteng Kuto Besak, Monpera, Siguntang Hill, etc. Kemaro Island is located on Musi River.This island named “Kemarau” because this island always dry, never get flooded although Musi River water overflow. There’s a legend about the appearance of this island, a love story between Palembang princess and a trader from China. Every year, the celebration of Cap Go Meh held in Kemaro Island. At this time, many people will visit the island for praying at the temple and enjoy the celebration.
