Informal letter to a penfriend
Dear Maria
I’m very pleased that we’re going to be penfriends. I’ll tell a little about myself, and you can do the same when you write to me.
I live in Novosibirsk. It’s located in the south-eastern part of the West Siberian Plain. I rent here a room here. My neighbour and landlady at the same time is a retired woman. She used to be a speech therapist. My family lives in Novokuznetsk except my middle brother, Andrey, who lives and studies in Tomsk. My mother works in a food delivery service as a manager. My father is a driving instructor.
As for me, I’m now training on the job of teacher in a kindergarten (I'm training to become a kindergarten teacher). I’m desperate to work with children and share my knowledge with them. At the moment I’m learning English because it will be needed in my future job. I’d like to have an “Advanced” level and pass some of international language exams.
In my spare time I like reading books, drawing, riding a bicycle and going out with my friends at the weekends.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
Write soon!
<Very beautifully written, I've made one change to the placement of an'I' in a sentence above and have also made a more natural sounding alternative to one of your sentences.>
