Active and passive voice exercise
I'm going to resply the exercise of this web page: http://www.englishgrammar.org/active-passive-voice-exercise/ I hope, somebody will can rate it.
The sentences are in active voice and I'm going to change it to passive voice.
1. The boy killed the spider / The spider was killed by the boy
2. The police caught the thief / The thief was caught by the police
3. The boy made a kite / The kite was made by the boy
4. The sudden noise frightened the dog / The dog was frightened by the sudden noise
5. Edison invented the bulb light / The bulb light was invented by Edison
6. He made a very remarkable discovery / A very remarkable discovery was made by him
7. His own brother betrayed him / He was betrayed by his own brother
8. I have sold my old car / My old car has to be sold by me
9. They opened the store only last month / The store was opened only last month by them
10. We don't permit smoking in the kitchen / ------
11. The cat cashed the mouse / The mouse was cashed by the cat
12. Your behavior disgusts me / I am distust by your behavior
13. The cat drank all the milk / All the milk was drunk by the cat
14. A stone struck me on the lead / -------

8. I have sold my old car / My old car has been sold by me.
"My old car has to be sold" means "My old car must be sold".
9. They opened the store only last month / The store was opened by them only last month by them.
This just makes it more natural.
10. We don't permit smoking in the kitchen / Smoking in the kitchen is not permitted (by us).
11. The cat caught the mouse / The mouse was caught by the cat
The past simple form of 'catch' is 'caught'.
12. Your behavior disgusts me / I am distust digusted by your behavior
13. The cat drank all the milk / All the milk was drunk by the cat
14. A stone struck me on the head / I was struck on the head by a stone.
