Pronouncing 'ing' - tricky for Russians
As I have many Russian students, I notice regular patterns in relation to areas of English-language learning that Russians find difficult. One area of challenge is with pronunciation. The 'ing' sound, which is very common in English, seems a difficult sound for Russians to pronounce.
This sound is produced by putting the tongue at the top of the mouth, making a sound from the back of the mouth and pushing the sound through the NOSE. It is a nasal sound: 'walking', 'talking', and so on. Something to work on if you are a Russian speaker.
