A Native American Language So at some point I'd like to learn a Native American language, but I'm not sure which. The only one I know of is Cherokee. Of course usually choosing a language has to do with what you feel connected to, but I'm not particular. Perhaps one that was spoken in my modern day area, New England. Mostly I'm sad for the massive loss of culture from when Europeans all but wiped an entire people. Do you know of Native American languages that you like, speak, or have some connection to?

In New England the Wampanoag tribe was one of the first to meet Europeans this was the tribe that had the “first “thanksgiving” Did you know there was a form of sign language between tribes so that they could communicate without learning their language? Anyway most native languages today are derived from Iroquois language so I’d say that would be a good place to start Cherokee is a form of Iroquois
