Do grades encourage students to learn Grade may be very important for almost every student. In some way, grade is a essential judgment standard to decide which kind of student he or she is. For my point of view, grades encourage students to learn. First, grade can be a kind of pressure for students in some aspect. And this kind of pressure is motivation. Students may think the one who gets high grades is a good student. And the pressure of grade is left in the students’ mind invisible. Students could try their best to get high grades. This is when the pressure comes out. Under the motivation, students may be more struggled to achieve the goal. They will learn more. Second, grade is helpful to strengthen the students’ confidence in study. If the students get good grades in the exam, they will think that what they did make effects on studying and they were not wasting the time. Success in the exam is good for strengthening the confidence whether about study or in life. Once students are full of confidence, they will go all out to learn with the purpose to be a winner. This is a virtuous cycle. At last, grade can give students more opportunity to become successful. Students with high grades can be prominent; also many people can take notice of them. So more opportunities can be provided for the good grade students. The opportunities may be to attend a better class or a better school. The more opportunities students get, the more they will learn. These are all good for them to be successful. Although the grade may bring bad effects on students, I think the advantages is more than disadvantages. All in all, the grades do encourage students to learn.
