IELTS Essay: People are never satisfied .... Please let me know what my mistakes are. Thanks a lot Question: Do you agree with the following statement? People are never satisfied with what they have, they always want something more or something different. Use specific reasons to support your answer. The nature of humans is always hungry to gain more knowledge and garner more properties to make them convinced. There has been a debate over people are never satisfied with what they have is an open discussion to examine. I am more inclined to disagree than agree with this point of view. The feeling of wanting new things ranging from information to wealth would bear with human’s birth which could be a good trait of human being. Depends on the people’s characters and personalities, their feeling of being satisfied of their lives could be considerably different. There are some people who have a fulfilling job, a great family, and their health, but they feel dissatisfied with what they have. They are always suffering from wanting the something they do not know what it is. One the other hand, there are some people who have nothing wealthy in their lives, but they are satisfied with as they have. They have found that they have to live in the moment and enjoy their lives with all they have. In my opinion, to want more from the world and the life would keep people to try more for having what they want, as a result, they would progress and develop in their lives. To meet the endless needs, human could access the existing achievements. What is important is that people would feel happiness when they could be successful in attaining their wishes. Some people know how to use their insatiable demands of the life and some others are slaves of their unquenchable thirst for needs. All in all, I think people have different feeling and characters and it could not be attributed to all people that they are never satisfied with what they want.

The nature of humans is always hungry to gain more knowledge and garner more properties to make them convinced. There has been a debate over (whether) people are never satisfied with what they have (or not) is an open discussion to examine. I am more inclined to disagree than agree with this point of view.
The feeling of wanting new things ranging from information to wealth would bear with human's birth which could be a good trait of human being. It depends on the people's characters and personalities, their feeling satisfaction of their lives could be considerably different. There are some people who have a fulfilling job, a great family, and good health, but they feel dissatisfied with what they have. They are always suffering from wanting the something they do not know what it is. One the other hand, there are some people who have nothing wealthy in their lives, but they are satisfied with what they have. They have found that they have to live in the moment and enjoy their lives with all they have.

"People are never satisfied with what they have, they always want something more or something different." I think it's true since I can resonate with that from my experience. Sometimes I find myself needy of something I don't have in the present moment and only exists in the past or in the future. Two dimensional states that actually don't exist. That's the problem. The Ego that lives in each of us will always want something it can't have in the present moment since the Ego can't exist in the present moment. What's the Ego? The Ego is constitued by your thoughts and emotions. Your thoughts will always force you to desire something you don't have already. But when you live in the present moment(when you stop the stream of thoughts and you're fully aware of your surroundings) you don't think, and since thoughts are for the 99% of the time concentrated on past or future situations they create themselves, you won't feel needy and unsatisfied. To sum up: When you are thinking, you will think of future situations where you have the thing you want and that creates a stressful contrast between the present You (that doesn't have that thing) and Your future hypothetical self that is in possess of that thing. But even if you are able to get that thing in your present situation your Ego(thoughts) will search for another thing you don't have in your present because the Ego can't live in the present moment. Living the present moment means not to think, and not to think means to be at peace with yourself. That's inner peace, something that doesn't depend on external things that will always leave you unsatisfied.
