IELTS TASK 2: (2): Poor And Wealthy Countries, Please help me with corrections. Thanks so much
Question:
Should wealthy nations be required to share their wealth among poorer countries by providing such things as food and education? Or is it responsibility of the government of poorer countries to look after their citizen themselves?
Answer:
There is an open debate over whether rich countries should help poor countries by supplying their needs, such as educational opportunities and food, or whether poorer countries have to be responsible for their own needs. I think that although rich countries could help those needy countries, and it would contribute to improving the world, it is not a requirement for them. Besides, every country has to take responsibilities and steps towards self-improvement.
On one hand, rich countries have managed to be wealthy and successful. They have invested money and time in their future’s issue to not only provide for their people’s needs, but also to develop their countries. While poor countries were trying to live for the moment, rich countries were planning to make their future. However, it is acknowledged that to make a better world, it is better for richer countries to support those needy countries in some convenient ways. For example, there are many countries which give special scholarships to individuals living in deprived countries. therefore, the educated people could aid their own countries’ people in education. Another good example is that richer countries could establish factories in those countries to create job opportunities and to provide food and clothing resources.
On the other hand, poor countries’ governments themselves have to take steps in the direction of progress. They have to investigate about the difficulties and needs existing in their countries to solve them. For instance, if a country has a high borth rate, its citizens are not able to find jobs and earn money, and as a result, they cannot meet their needs. The government of the country could make a plan about decreasing the birth rate.
In short, in my opinion, although rich countries could support poor countries to some extent, it is the poor countries responsibility to handle their problems.
