Governments should spend more money on education than on recreation and sports. In recent years, there has been a hot debate about the need to spend money fon education instead of recreation and sports. The problem is that most people understand education as getting pupils and students some general academic knowledge only. I disagree fundamentally with this point of view for many reasons. First of all, education is a reasonable combination of study, physical activity, teamwork and fun. In this regard, the government should take care of all aspects of a children's development. It is necessary to explain to make people aware that successful education system includes combination of work and rest. This basic physiological statement was discovered in the 19th century, but, unfortunately, it is forgotten by many people. From my own experience I know that, young people, who go to the swimming-pool on a daily basis look both healthier and happier than their peers, who spent many hours inside the classroom. To my way of thinking, people who do not exercise and scarify their rest and sleep are not healthy. It is rather cruel to make people waste the best years of their lives studying academic subjects only, which eventually will turn out to be useless and will be forgotten in a few years. Furthermore, a weak and unhealthy person cannot be a good employee because he will probably spends a lot of time restoring health. That is why governments should spend money to different recreational facilities for these people but not for education. To conclude, it is evident to me that the main purpose of education is a development of mental, physical and social abilities of young people. Curriculum reform will help students to prepare for their future life and work requirements

Governments should spend more money on education than on recreation and sports.

In recent years, there has been a hot debate about the need to spend money on education instead of recreation and sports. The problem is that most people understand education as just giving students some general academic knowledge. I fundamentally disagree with this point of view for many reasons.
First of all, education is a reasonable combination of studies, physical activity, teamwork and fun. In this regard, the government should take care of all aspects of a child's development. It is necessary to explain to people that a successful education system includes a combination of work and rest. This basic physiological statement was discovered in the 19th century, but, unfortunately, it has been forgotten by many people. From my own experience I know that, young people who go to the swimming-pool on a daily basis look both healthier and happier than their peers, who spend too many hours in the classroom.

According to my way of thinking, people who do not exercise and sacrifice their rest and sleep are not healthy. It is rather cruel to make people waste the best years of their lives studying only academic subjects, which eventually will turn out to be useless and will be forgotten in a few years. Furthermore, a weak and unhealthy person cannot be a good employee because he will probably spends a lot of time restoring his health. That is why governments should spend money on creating different recreational facilities for these people and not on education.

To conclude, it is evident to me that the main purpose of education is the development of the mental, physical and social abilities of young people. Curricular reform will help students to prepare for their future life and the world of work.

I agree Marina, too much time studying indoors is not good. Children need to develop good habits in relation to sleep and exercise early on - healthy mind in a healthy body as the old phrase goes. Great essay, well done!
