The little air vehicles withouth crew have become useful devices to observe ant study the natural environment and species. In Royal Burgers' Zoo case they are using drones to sutdy the chimpanzee's behaviour. What they were not able to take in account was that chimpanzees are very intelligent and don't like the unexpected visits. The 10th April during one of the observation flights, a drone with a camera was knocked down and destroyed by a chimpanzee who was on a wood structure armed with a stick. In the images shooted by the drone, the chimpanzee was calm , he stretched his arm and started trying to knock down the device. The drone remained useless after the attack but the technicians could recover the images recorded by the camera

The drones have become useful devices to observe and study the natural environment and different species. In Royal Burgers Zoo's case they are using drones to study the chimpanzee's behaviour.
What they were not able to take in account was that chimpanzees are very intelligent and don't like the unexpected visits.
On the 10th April during one of the observation flights, a drone with a camera was knocked down and destroyed by a chimpanzee who was on a wood structure armed with a stick. In the images shot by the drone, the chimpanzee was calm , he stretched out his arm and started trying to knock down the device.
The drone remained useless after the attack but the technicians were able to recover the images recorded by the camera.
