New mayor in Cadiz!
Hi everyone,
today is an special day for a lot of people in my city, Cadiz.
today is a special day
I'm going to explain you why are we happy.
The past 24th of May were the local elections in all the cities around my country.
On the 24th of May, there were local elections in all the cities in my country*.
*around the country or in my country
This is something ordinary (we vote for these local elections each 4 years)
This is not unusual: we hold local elections every 4 years
but our mayor has been controlling and handling the town hall in her own benefits
but our mayor has been controlling and handling the town hall (or "local government") for her own benefit.
(as a big part of the politicians groups)
as have many politicians (I'm not 100% sure what you wanted to say here)
taking the control and earning economic benefits for her and his husband (known for being part of Rato's scandal).
her husband
Here in the town hall, on the plenary sessions a lot of people that were claiming for being evicted from their homes are being censored
Here in the town hall, during the plenary sessions a lot of people that were fighting against being evicted from their homes are being censored
and this is not a correct behaviour that a public charge must have.
and this is not the correct behaviour that a public charge should show.
better: this is not the correct way a public representative should act
Another reason why a lot of people don't want to see her in the town hall is caused because of the elevated percentage of people who are unemployed,
Another reason why a lot of people don't want to see her in the town hall is because of the elevated (or high) percentage of people who are unemployed,
the 40,7% of the citizens are unemployed and this percentage is higher in young people.
40,7% of the citizens are unemployed and this percentage is highest among young people.
So, the new mayor come from a new political group based on the union of different extreme left-side political groups,
So, the new mayor comes from a new political group based on the union* of different extreme left-wing political groups,
* a good word here would be "amalgamation", meaning the same thing as union in this context, but often used when talking about political groups.
he looks like more devoted than his predecessor and his speeches sound nearer than reality.
he looks like he is more devoted than his predecessor and his speeches sound nearer to reality.
I hope that he will be transparent with the information about the accounts of the city town
I hope that he will be transparent with the information surrounding the financial accounts of the city town (?? just city, or town; not both)
and he let us guide him on the decisions that he will have to take it respecting the opinion of his voters.
and he let us guide him on the decisions that he will have to take and respecting the opinion of his voters.
