IELTS W2 Essay: attending live concerts or watching them on TV Task: Some people like to see live performances, shows, concerts and so on. Others, however, prefer to watch them on TV or a computer screen rather than attending live shows. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. Essay People’s attitudes towards live concerts and festivals vary. Some people enjoy attending these events, whereas others prefer to see performances and shows on television or online. This essay agrees that crowded live concerts can be stressful. It will discuss both views presented above, followed by a reasoned conclusion. Attending a live concert can be an unforgettable experience. Especially people who are outgoing and sociable enjoy being in crowds and witnessing performances and shows by themselves. Not only do live shows entertain people, they also give satisfaction and raise a spirit. Moreover, live concerts can bond spectaculars together in a way that the experience can be even stronger. For instance, in the concert of the Finnish tango singer Jari Sillanpää people sang the most popular choruses together and held hand in hand. Nevertheless, there are also people who are not in favour of live concerts and shows. They rather watch them at home on TV or online by using their tablets or computers. These people are often introverts who might be scared of places packed with people. According to a study published in the Helsinki News, these people can feel stress and anxiety, if they are forced to stay the whole evening in a crowded concert hall or a festival tent. At home in front of the screen they can experience the same show in a safe environment instead, which might be much more satisfying for them than attending a live event. In conclusion, I would argue that although seeing live shows and performances might be memorable experiences, some people feel uncomfortable while participating in mass events. Personally, I prefer to watch shows on TV, because I tend to think that being in a full stadium in order to see a famous singer cause rather stress than joy.

Essay

People’s attitudes towards live concerts and festivals vary. Some people enjoy attending these events, whereas others prefer to see watch performances and shows on television or online. This essay agrees that crowded live concerts can be stressful. It will discuss both views presented above, followed by a reasoned conclusion.

Attending a live concert can be an unforgettable experience(, especially for outgoing people who like to be in a crowd while enjoying live performances and shows.) Especially for (one of the adjectives goes here) people who are outgoing and sociable (choose one cause they're synonyms), enjoy being in crowds and witnessing performances and shows in person by themselves. Not only do live shows entertain people, they also give satisfaction and raise spirits. Moreover, live concerts can bond spectaculars spectators together in a way that strengthens the experience the experience can be even stronger. For instance, in during the concert of the Finnish tango singer Jari Sillanpää, people held hands while singing the most popular choruses sang the most popular choruses together and held hand in hand.

Nevertheless However, there are also people who are not in favour of live concerts and shows. They'd...or...they would... rather watch them at home on TV or online by using their tablets or computers.(don't think you need to add that bit etc). These people are often introverts who might be scared of crowded places packed with people. According to a study published in the Helsinki News, these people can feel stress and anxiety stressed and anxious, if they are forced to spend an entire evening  stay the whole evening in a crowded concert hall or festival tent. At home in front of the screen, they can experience the same show in a safe environment instead, which might be much more satisfying for them than attending a live event. (It may be more satisfying for them to experience the show in the safe confines/environment of their home instead of in a crowded arena)

In conclusion, I would argue that although seeing live shows and performances might be memorable experiences, some people feel uncomfortable while participating in mass events. Personally, I prefer to watch shows on TV, because I tend to think that being in a full stadium in order to see a famous singer causes rather stress rather than joy.
