Experience has shown that the first ones are probably the only worthwhile ones.
Giving rules states limits (provides boundaries) and marks a path (direction) where the behaviour can lead. hike. However, limits can let permit a wider or narrower scope. scenery. I hold the view that though the track is set (determined) sometimes and some people (the great majority) need to experience by on their own the consequences of running off the rails. Notwithstanding, (nevertheless) after a fall as a consequence of transgressing the rules the message will be there: following the rules will avoid the mistake.
I´m broadly in agreement with the point of view that considers that setting an example is the most effective way to influence anyone. However, this is definitively not a golden rule and the most common situation is that every single person mankind has to experience the consequences of making an error. (Mankind is plural. You cannot say 'every single mankind'. You could say: '...is that all mankind has to experience..')
Human beings need to learn through trial and error and the above stated methods will avoid the frequency of the mistake but not its execution.
