I assume that some of your surgeries are elective and some are mandatory. Maybe you could spend more time discussing outcomes before doing the surgeries so that the patients might understand better. Also, we need to remember that some people can not be pleased, no matter what. Hopefully more discussion will at least help you to feel better.
