Examples would be:

'Get' on its own could be "get me a coke" ie bring a coke to me. Or "I get it!" Meaning " I understand what you said"

Get has the notion of "movement/change in position"

Get up - "get up!!" (get out of bed or get up off the floor) - movement from a low position to a higher position

Get down (someone is up high eg on a roof) - "get down off that roof immediately!" - 

(or there could be children upstairs in a house making lots of noise, an angry mother might say ) "get down here now!" - movement from a higher position to a lower position.

Get away (it could be a command to someone) " get away from me!" (Don't come near me!) Or "I need to get away from here (as in " I need a holiday") - movement of distance from one thing/person/place to another

Get over (this again could be a command) "Get over that bridge quickly in case it collapses" - movement from one position to the other side (eg from one side of the road to the other side or from one dide of the wall over to the other side of the wall) 

or it could be used in the phrase " it will take me a long time to get over the loss of my cat" (meaning to stop grieving for the loss of the cat - movement from one state (being very upset because your cat died) to another state (you stop being very upset and crying to a state where you accept you have lost your cat and you now think about your cat without crying)

 or you are in one place and you tell your friend to "get over here quickly" meaning "come to where I am now" - (movement of a person/animal from where they currently are to where you currently are.)

Get off (this could be a command) "Get off me!" (Take your hands off me) - movement of the hands currently touching a person to a position of "not touching"

or how much time do you get off? (how much holiday do you get from work - movement from the current position (work) to a different position (not at work)

Get between (this could be to physically place yourself between two things eg. Get between the sheets on a bed or to place yourself between two people or animals.)
