Tswii is a staple food for people in the north west part of Botswana.It is found in rivers and water streams.The waterlily as it is commonly called is cooked well using firewood and mixed with meat /beef to create a good flavour.It is often times served with magwinya (fatcakes) or mapakiwa.

Thank you for sharing this! I learnt about this traditional ingredient from my Botswana teacher Laone today. So interesting! Similarly, in China we consume lotus roots which are very crunchy if eaten raw but creamy if cooked.
