Book review
Jane Eyre
“Jane Eyre” is one of the most famous novels in the world literature. It is written by English author Charlotte Brontë and contains features of autobiography which can be noticed in the story of main character – Jane Eyre.
Jane Eyre comes from poor clergyman’s family. Soon after the girl’s birth, her parents suddenly die. Since that time Jane is brought up by her uncle’s family in Gateshead. And this has the greatest impact on all her future life. Hated by household of Gateshead, the little orphan becomes quite self-independent and a bit stubborn person. Her intractable behavior leads to Mrs. Reed’s decision to send the girl in private school located far away from the Reed’s estate. At Lowood Institution Jane studies many interesting subjects. And after graduating from the school, she becomes a governess in Thornfield Hall where almost all the most interesting events of novel originate at.
The book is written with beautiful poetic language. The author has managed to print the atmosphere of the nineteenth century on the pages of the novel. Immersed in this atmosphere, a reader just cannot turn away the book that is filled with captivating plot twists. Moreover, the main character is so much strong and bright person with difficult fate that makes you empathize her from the first chapter.
I think that the story of a poor orphan who doesn’t loose her kindness and reasonableness in spite of life problems could be interesting for everyone. The book teaches you how not to succumb the despair despite all the difficulties. That is why I highly recommend this novel.
