- Is there any specific rule?
- is (to initiate) formal?
- is (to initiate) synonym with (to start) and (to begin)
that´s my new verb and i would like to learn how to use it correctly
please, i appreciate if you guys can help me with this.

(to initiate) is a more formal version of (to start) and (to begin). You can use it in many situations but more when you are referring to beginning something new
Example: Let's initiate a new conversation.
