Could you please help me correct the following sentences?
They are about Japanese electoral system.
***
Let me introduce a unique custom on Japanese election day. At each polling station, the voter who get there the earliest on the day are asked to look inside of the ballot boxes to make sure there are no ballots before voting.
When I knew this custom to guarantee the fairness of the election, I thought it would be an imitation system that models somewhere in Europe or the US, but according to my English teacher from the UK, the UK has no such custom.
Does your country have an equivalent custom?

I'm not sure, actually. An interesting question! Thanks for bringing it up :)

We would expect the people in charge of voting to certify the fairness, not the the individual voters. (US citizen here)
