How Do AI Writing Tools Compare to Traditional Tutoring?
I’ve noticed more students turning to AI writing tools, and it made me wonder how they actually compare to working with a tutor. For example, tools like ChatGPT, MyEssayWriter.ai, and PerfectEssayWriter.ai can generate drafts, explain grammar, or even help brainstorm ideas within seconds. This is very different from a tutoring session, where there’s real-time guidance, feedback, and a deeper focus on understanding the concepts rather than just producing text.
I remember a student sharing an incident where they used an AI tool to draft an essay outline. It gave them a good starting point, but when they sat with their tutor afterward, the tutor pointed out gaps in logic, organization, and sources. The AI was quick, but the tutor helped them think critically and refine their arguments. That made me realize the two don’t necessarily compete, they might complement each other.
Do you see AI tools as a replacement for tutoring, or more as a support tool that can work alongside it?
I’d love to hear your experiences.
