It was overcast today. I had a stomach ache this morning, but it gradually faded as Dad and I studied the science book again. We focused on sound waves, learning they travel at 340 m/s in air and 1500 m/s in water. The chapter also covered things like wavelength and amplitude, but those weren't out focus. True to form, Dad quickly turned everything into math problems – word questions about sonar and underwater distances. I struggled with those until dinner was finally ready and he then released me. At least the mental challenge seemed to distract me from my bellyache.

Hope it went away.
