Did you know that "ç" was in the Spanish language before?
Spanish abandoned the use of cedilla in the seventeenth century with the fifth edition of the Ortografía de la lengua castellana and simplified it by the "z" or "C" before "e" and "i".

In Italian we don't use it, though we have it on the keyboard 🤔
