These lines are taken from The Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde. I want to know what "he leaned up against a moonbeam" means hear.

I can only think that he literally means a moonbeam - a ray of light from the moon. I don't think there's another meaning for moonbeam, so the light must have been shining on the wall or something.
