"I'll show you clearly what the component parts of [it] are." This may refer to something material (parts of a car's engine), behaviors (steps in making a recipe), or ideas (the logical steps of an argument.) Sometimes "I'll break it down for you" can be sarcastic or patronizing. The implication is that you need to make something easy to understand because the other person can't understand complicated things.
