The English word 'lad' meaning boy or youngster origins I found to go back to the Aramaic. Lad is also the same word in Hebrew and Arabic.
Google top result for the origin of the word lad was 'unknown' according to Oxford languages. And yet others attempted to give the Scandinavian language as the author of the word. But nothing could be further from the truth. The English word Lad is of Aramaic origin!!!
My question is how is it that Oxford languages failed to see something so clearly?
