Hi
Do British people often use the verb "mend" in everyday English rather than "repair" or both of them are common in British English?

Yes, they are both commonly used...
'mend' is usually used for smaller jobs like mending clothes, shoes, broken plates, door locks.....
'repair' is often used for bigger repairs sometimes involving machines, cars, broken doors, broken windows etc
I've just given a very few examples. The 2 words can often be interchangeable...
