Community TutorI have noticed some similarities between Russian and Portuguese, there are some words that sounds the same. For example "fabrika/fábrica" (factory), "forma"(shape) and when someone makes a mistake "opa" (whoops), is that exclamation the same in Russian?
So does anyone know Russian and Portuguese and how many words sound the same in these languages, I'm curious?

I'm Russian, when I was in Portugal I had a feeling that I hear Russian.
As I've read both Russian and Portuguese are stress-timed languages, so that makes their intonation sound very similar
But since first is slavic group and second is roman they only similar in rhythm and for sure there are many common words derived from Latin 🤠
