I came across an article online about making efficient use of carbon oxide(CO2) which generates in a place where they burn garbage. The garbage incineration plant "Bio Energy Center" in Tokyo started a verification test. Their purpose is to improve the growing speed and to increase harvest volume due to photosynthesis of agriculture products boosted by increasing CO2 concentration in the greenhouse.
The test removes unnecessary materials from combustion gas with high concentration CO2 generated in the plant, and sends the gas to the test greenhouse for strawberries. It also makes use of electricity and heat when they burn garbage to manage the temperature for the greenhouse. So, the local government thinks that they will be able to contribute to reducing carbon emissions too if this project is available to the public in the future.
On the other hand, big agricultures have a problem that their utilities cost a lot of money to control the temperature in the greenhouse. So, this project will help them improve productivity due to the use of CO2 and reduce the cost due to the reuse of electricity and heat.
The test will continue until March, 2027. It will also evaluate the growing status of strawberries and the safety of this kind of energy supply system.
Note)I'm afraid that I googled some words "photosynthesis" and "garbage incineration plant" because I didn't know how I can express them in English.
