Hello everybody! is it completely optional to use "to" with the verb "to dare"? "I didn't dare to ask her." "My husband didn't dare ask any questions.

Hi Jolanta, yes the “to” is totally optional here and both variations make perfect sense.

I have heard it both ways, though I might say that the version without “to” is less formal—at least here in North America.

i feel it is more natural to leave it out. i wouldn't dare do a parachute jump!
