Is this ok? This month, our school had several New Year’s celebrations, like a party and a charity sale.

It’s not great because of the word ‘like’. What are parties and charity sales ‘like’? I don’t know.
Instead of ‘like’ clearer would be: such as, including, most notably etc.
A native speaker could say this, though, but it sounds slightly childish.
