1. I must agree with the sentiments expressed by the previous speaker.
Does it mean "remark/ word"?
2. "Don't live your life on others' terms". I like this sentiment.
Does it mean "opinion/ thought" in this case?

Hi, Lee D. In both sentences, "sentiment" means the view or opinion held or expressed. The author agrees with the other person's point of view in both sentences.
