It was sweltering today, 37 degrees Celsius with clear skies and thick humidity. I encountered an interesting situation today. My guitar tutor, Jane, who’s got a great sense of humor and a lovely presence, turned out to be male! My parents were totally shocked when they found out. Jane looks and sounds every bit like a woman, none of us ever questioned it until my mom saw her ID, which makes it crystal clear she was assigned male at birth. Honestly, I’m completely fine with it. She’s wonderful just as she is. If she’s happy being called Jane, then that’s perfectly fine by me.
