A 'profane word' or profane language is words used in a way that show disrespect or contempt for religion or sacred things, such as taking the name of God in vain or blaspheming.
The adjective 'profane' actually means not connected with religion or religious matters. You can say 'profane art'.
But we also use it to describe any language that is vulgar, offensive or abusive.
