I will give you some examples to a better understanding: Hein: {interj.} (also: hum!, hem) = huh, ha, eh {interj.} Porque está sempre se metendo em confusão, hein? Why you always got to show your ass, man, huh? Fazem um coral e tanto, hein? They're quite a choir, ha? Nunca andas sozinho, hein companheiro? You'll never walk alone, eh, mate? Espero que você beije as primas, hein? Then hope I that you of that inteelt be, or not?

Possivelmente vai encontrar nos dicionários como hem. É uma especie de pedido de confirmação. Interjeição para "como?", "ouvi corretamente?", "pode confirmar?", "tem certeza?" etc. Veja: http://michaelis.uol.com.br/moderno/portugues/definicao/hem!_85918.html
