What does 'blunt to the point of gruffness' mean?
Not naturally introspective and blunt to the point of gruffness, Tyler says he doesn't bother with what-ifs.
Does 'blunt to the point of gruffness' mean Tyler is obtuse in understanding the meaning of others' gruffness? Thank you!

Blunt means to talk frankly.
Gruff means harsh. Thus gruffness is the manner of being harsh.
The whole phrase means someone is very frank that he is being harsh or has hurt someone else's feelings.

He is too straightforward and right to the point ( blunt) in an exaggerated manner that makes him almost rude ( gruffness).
