The sentence is not wrong, but it would normally be written as follows:
She was taken by ambulance to the hospital, or
She was taken to the hospital by an ambulance.
Just two simpler ways of writing the same sentence.

either "she was taken away in an ambulance" or "she was taken by ambulance", both are correct.
