do you have idea about the meaning of this expression " shift towards" ??
please i need an example.

"Shift towards" means "move towards" from a previous position. It also "means to change direction.
"Public opinion has shifted toward a more conservative approach."
"The wind has shifted towards the east."
"The continent of Australia is shifting slowly towards the North."

shift forward= move forward
Example: "Can you please shift forward?" said the airline steward to the passengers on the plane .
